An arrest has been made in connection with what police are calling a violent attack on a woman in Santa Barbara last week.
Police were called to an area near the railroad tracks Wednesday morning after a bystander reportedly found a woman with a serious head injury.
At the time, police said the attacker was unknown to the victim.
Two days later, police say they took a man into custody for violating his parole and then requested three felony charges be filed against him in connection with the Oct. 2 attack.
Leo Burl Butler was reportedly booked into Santa Barbara County Jail on charges including assault with a deadly weapon and battery with great bodily harm.
Bail was set at $500,000.
Police have not provided any information on a possible motive.
