An Orcutt woman wants the community to get involved in showing their support for those working to help others during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Resident Vicki Mardon hung white strips from a bed sheet around her yard and placed others in a basket for people to take.
She wants the 2.5 x 36'' ribbons to be a sign of support for those in the health care industry along with first responders, mail carriers, other delivery drivers, grocery store workers and more.
"We all kind of feel helpless in our homes not being able to really do anything to help and I just wanted to show support, so when these workers have go to work and they're going to work for us, they can drive by and see the white ribbons," Mardon said.
She's hoping to spread the word about the ribbons and their meaning and encourages people to make their own and also place them around their yards.
