UPDATE (7:05 p.m.) - According to the California Highway Patrol, at about 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday, a Chevrolet truck traveling westbound on West Ocean Avenue went off the roadway, overturned, and rolled into a dry concrete irrigation canal west of Douglas Avenue.
The driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, was killed.
Officers say no other vehicles were involved.
The name of the driver has not yet been released.
The CHP is asking anyone who has further information about this crash to call the Buellton Area CHP office at (805) 691-6160.

UPDATE (4:55 p.m.) - The CHP reports that West Ocean Avenue has been reopened.

(3:29 p.m.) - The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash near Lompoc.
The crash was reported at about 12:20 p.m. Wednesday on West Ocean Avenue just west of the city.
According to the CHP, West Ocean Avenue is closed between Douglass Avenue and De Wolff Avenue for the investigation. Detours are in place.
