A jackknifed semi-truck was blocking Highway 246 outside Lompoc Monday morning.
A closure was put into place shortly after 8 a.m. along the highway between Mission Gate Road and Sweeney Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, an equipment failure caused the middle of the semi's trailer to snap as the driver was pulling back onto the road after a brief stop.
The road remained closed as of 11:50 a.m. but CHP expected to have it back open by 1:30 p.m.
