The removal of a dead tree on Highway 246 or W. Ocean Ave. in Lompoc will begin on Tuesday, October 6, reducing a lane on the westbound road.
The lane reduction will last through October 8 as crews work to remove a dead Canary Island pine tree. They will be on site between U Street and T Street from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day.
Message and directional signs will alert travelers of traffic delays.
Santa Barbara County is advising residents to prepare for extra travel time in the area.
