ORIGINAL STORY: A kayaker died on Saturday after witnesses say waves flipped his kayak, and his life vest came off. Sheriff's deputies responded to Montana de Oro at approximately 10:20 a.m. after reports of a male kayaker who was drowning.
Crews from several agencies responded to the report. Responders found the man and performed CPR; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials have not released the identity of the man.
