Starting Monday, August 31, CAL Fire will start a prescribed burn project in Los Osos.
Officials say crews will burn piles of cut vegetation at the Morro Dunes Ecological Reserve. The project will last through September 6th.
The goal is to help endangered plants grow and clear out flammable brush to help prevent wildfires. Officials ask that you not report the fire unless there is an actual emergency.
