May is National Stroke Awareness Month and Adventist Health took part by hosting a free painting class on Friday in Morro Bay.
The event was designed for stroke patients and their families, caregivers and friends.
Organizers say the class aimed to promote community and connection through social activities and creative expression.
One participant called it "art therapy."
The painting class was held in collaboration with the Hope for Stroke Survivors Support Group.
