The scope of the destruction to the Montecito community can been clearly seen in new photos from helicopter pilots.
Santa Barbara County Fire Department’s air support unit has released aerial photos of neighborhoods leveled with mud and boulders.
The photos were taken Wednesday by Matt Udkow aboard Santa Barbara County Air Support Unit’s Fire Copter 308.
There are 14 helicopters assisting with search and rescue efforts in Montecito Thursday.
Nearly 700 first responders are searching on the ground and from the air for survivors of the deadly mudslides.
