Firefighters were responding to a structure fire in Santa Maria Monday afternoon that was creating thick, black smoke visible throughout the city.
At 3:45 p.m., City officials said flames were visible at the metal warehouse on the 1200 block of West Stowell.
The building reportedly has cardboard and pallets inside.
No other details were immediately available.
