The Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara held its annual scholarship awards ceremony for north county students Tuesday afternoon at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria.

This year, the Scholarship Foundation will award more than 2,700 scholarships totaling more than $8.3 million to students throughout Santa Barbara County.

The non-profit organization has awarded more than $100 million worth of scholarships since it was founded in 1962.

"Our goal is just to get everybody who wants to go to college to college," said Barbara Robertson, Interim President and CEO of the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara.

The foundation relies on donations from the community to make the scholarships possible.
