The frontrunner in the race for governor is spending part of the Tuesday before Election Day in San Luis Obispo.

Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom was holding a "meet and greet" from 2 to 3 p.m. at the SLO City/County Library Community Room co-sponsored by the SLO County Democratic Party, SLO Progressives, Cal Poly Democrats, and California Nurses’ Association.

San Luis Obispo Mayor Heidi Harmon is hosting a separate event featuring Newsom. It is a Happy Hour event at Luna Red set for 4:40 p.m.

The lieutenant governor kicked off a seven-day bus tour earlier in the day at San Francisco City Hall.

Newsom also stopped in Monterey on his way through the Central Coast.
