Containment remained at 61 percent Wednesday morning for the Front Fire burning off Highway 166 northeast of Santa Maria.

The fire broke out Sunday, Aug. 19, at around 1:30 p.m. at the Rockfront OHV area in the Los Padres National Forest.

So far, it has burned an estimated 936 acres.

Crews on Tuesday afternoon were working to secure a containment line around the fire, which is burning in grass, brush and chaparral along the Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo County line.

No evacuations have been issued.
