It’s move-in weekend at Cal Poly and San Luis Obispo is bustling with new students and their parents.
Move-in started Friday and wraps up by next Wednesday. New students will move into the dorms through Saturday, then it’s the continuing students’ turn.
Week of Welcome, or WOW, kicks off on Sunday with nearly 5,500 freshmen and transfer students expected to participate. Participation in WOW is mandatory for all new students.
In addition, you can expect extra law enforcement around town because San Luis Obispo’s "Safety Enhancement Zone" is in effect. Fines for certain violations will be doubled and there will be additional officers patrolling neighborhoods around Cal Poly until Sept. 24.
