Foundation donates free art supplies to local students

Posted

Young artists on the Central Coast have some new supplies thanks to the Ian Hassett Foundation.

An art trailer stocked with free supplies visited the Pioneer Valley High School campus on Wednesday.  Low-income students who are interested in art were able to pick up materials.  The school says it’s a great opportunity for students looking for a creative outlet.

It was the second time the foundation’s trailer visited the campus.

Ian Hassett was an art student at Righetti High School and Allan Hancock College. He died in 2012 when he was just 19 years old after battling cancer.  His family and friends created the foundation in his memory. It provides free art supplies, grants, shows, and classes for disabled adults in the community.
