The CHP identified the woman who was killed in a motorcycle crash earlier this month near Paso Robles.

CHP says Harley Nicole Lujan, 27 from Porterville, was killed. Investigators say she was a passenger on the motorcycle. She was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, but officers say it wasn’t enough to protect her.

The crash happened on Highway 46, west of Arbor Road, around 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 16. CHP says a Harley Davidson motorcycle driving eastbound drifted onto the right shoulder of the highway and crashed into the back of a Nissan that was stopped on the side of the road. The motorcycle then slid into the path of another vehicle traveling westbound.

Lujan was thrown from the motorcycle and died from her injuries. The motorcycle driver, who has not been identified, was hospitalized with major injuries.

CHP had previously reported neither alcohol nor drugs appeared to be factors in the crash.
