A Paso Robles surgeon will soon show off his cutting skills in a different way when he competes on The Great American Baking Show.
John Blaney, who specializes in vascular surgery, is also a skilled baker.
Blaney will take his skills in the kitchen to a national stage when he competes against nine other bakers on a show co-hosted by Spice Girls singer Emma Bunton, known as Baby Spice.
The show is a spin-off of the U.K. series The Great British Bake Off. The winner of the American version will be crowned “America’s Best Amateur Baker.”
The Holiday Edition of the show, which Blaney is featured in, airs Dec. 6 and will include cake and sweet and savory pastries.
