New details are emerging about the transition of Sansum Clinic in Lompoc to Lompoc Valley Medical Center (LVMC).
The hospital’s board of directors recently approved the purchase of the clinic for $8.75 million.
The clinic will re-open on January 3 with the new name of Lompoc Health – North H Center.
LVMC takes ownership of the building on January 1 and officials say they will be working to clean the facility top to bottom during that time.
Forty-seven staff members will remain along with almost all of the physicians, according to the hospital.
The lab, which was previously removed from Sansum, will also return to the clinic, although it is not yet known when it will open.
Urgent care hours at the North H Street facility will be weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning Jan. 3. Officials say they hope to expand that service to include weekends in the near future.
Sansum Clinic will provide some specialty services at the location, although Sansum says the details are not finalized.
