A man is under arrest after a deadly fight in Shandon on Saturday, according to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office.
In a press release, dispatch received a 911 call that two men had been fighting along the 200 block of Escondido Way around 5 p.m.
“Deputies responded to the scene where they found the victim a short distance away being treated by Cal Fire paramedics,” spokeman Tony Cipolla stated. “The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he later died from his wounds.”
The suspect was located at a home along the 100 block of 3rd Street in Shandon, authorities said, and the investigation then led to the suspect being a passenger in a vehicle.
Detectives followed the vehicle south on Highway 1 and made a “high-risk” traffic stop at the 4th Street exit in Pismo Beach.
The suspect, who was not identified other than as a 26-year-old male, was taken into custody without incident.
No other information was available. The victim was not identified but was said to be 23.
