More clearing and sunshine expected Thursday afternoon

Posted
and last updated

Clouds and fog continue to fill in along the coast and over the coastal valleys Thursday morning, but there is more clearing in the forecast. Weather modeling is showing those conditions will burn off by late morning, making for a mostly sunny day across the Central Coast. There will still be some lingering clouds, but sunshine is going to be fairly widespread, similar to Wednesday.

Northwesterly winds will increase, which will allow a lot of the marine layer and clouds to be pushed out of the area. At times, wind gusts could reach 20-30 miles per hour through Thursday night.

Daytime highs at the coast will be close to the upper 60s and the coastal valleys will be right around the mid-70s. The interior valleys will continue to be right around the mid-80s, but by the weekend, daytime highs should return to normal and be in the 90s.
