Posted

Night through morning low clouds look return to the coasts and some valleys through the weekend.

A weak upper low pressure system and return of the onshore breezes will bring a cooling trend and some gusty winds through the week.

Gusty Sundowner winds will affect mainly southwest Santa Barbara County through tonight, very similar to last night with a Wind Advisory in effect.

Another day.. another day with Sundowner winds across the pass/canyon/high country of SB County. N winds 15-30mph with local gusts to 50mph are possible.

Wednesday and Thursday will be cooler than today, as a weak upper level trough drops into northern California. This trough will combine with a moderate coastal eddy to deepen and expand the marine layer, with a more solid pattern of low clouds expected.

Temps cool over the next couple days with more onshore winds and some deepening of the marine influence. Here is your 3 day forecast taking you thru the 4th.

In regards to fireworks viewing conditions, the western half of the Central Coast will unfortunately have low clouds around 9pm. The Santa Barbara South Coast and Ventura Coast should be clear however, as well as the rest of the region.

The trough will move to the east on Thursday, this should add up to warmer conditions and fewer low clouds.

Saturday should be the warmest day of the next seven, as the ridging peaks. Temperatures should be very similar on Saturday to what we experienced yesterday, with 80`s and 90`s common away from the coast.

A weak trough is still on track to push into northern California on Sunday, which will add up to cooling and deepening of the marine layer through at least Monday or Tuesday. Some models suggest that it could be rather cool for the first half of next week. The pattern also looks like slow clearing days for some beaches as the onshore winds pick up.

3-5ft. waves should arrive from the south Friday-Saturday from huge Cat. 4 hurricane Barbara churning in the East Pacific basin.
