The trend of overnight and morning marine layer and fog continues Thursday morning. The overcast conditions will stick around through late morning before clearing begins.

By the afternoon, expect plenty of sunshine but below average temperatures. The interior valleys will be close to the mid-80s for this Independence Day. For the coastal valleys, daytime highs will be right around the upper 60s to the mid-70s. Along the coast, temperatures will range from the mid to upper-60s.

Breezy northwesterly winds will continue Thursday. Winds will generally range from 10-15 miles per hour with potential for gusts to reach 25 mph.

The big question in the forecast remains, will the fog impact the fireworks shows? Weather models are showing that fog and the marine layer will make its way to the coast around 7:00 p.m., which could impact the fireworks shows in Pismo Beach, Cambria, and Cayucos. However, the south coast looks to be clear at that time. Expect mostly clear skies for the coastal and interior valleys.
