The Los Angeles Board of Supervisors unanimously voted on Tuesday to ban flavored tobacco products, which includes flavored e-cigarettes.
The move comes as the Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported 805 confirmed cases or likely cases of lung injury associated with vaping in 46 states.
So far, 17 people have died from lung disease that could be tied to vaping.
The flavored tobacco ban goes into effect in Los Angeles in 30 days.
