SLO Co. adds 81 COVID-19 cases, 4 new deaths

San Luis Obispo County added 81 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the county's total to 6,540 confirmed cases as of Dec. 4.

Additionally, four new deaths were reported bring the county’s total to 42 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

Health officials say one person was in their 50s and did not have underlying health conditions. The others were in their 60s and 90s and did have underlying health conditions, officials say.

According to the Public Health Department, 14 people are hospitalized, including one patient who is in the ICU. Another 779 people are recovering at home and health officials say 5,700 people have recovered.

The location of 23 additional cases is under investigation, and another seven are listed as "other," which includes communities with fewer than five cases. The Public Health Department is not identifying those locations.

Community COVID-19 testing sites are currently open to the public in Nipomo, Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles and Morro Bay.
