SLO County adds 15 new cases of COVID-19

San Luis Obispo County added 15 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the county's total to 3,453 confirmed cases as of September 22.

Eight people are hospitalized, including four patients who are in the ICU.

Another 220 people are recovering at home and 3,194 have recovered.

San Luis Obispo County has had 27 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

  • California Men's Colony (inmates) - 289
  • Arroyo Grande - 214
  • Grover Beach - 158

  • Los Osos - 56
  • Morro Bay - 55
  • Shandon - 43
  • Cambria - 34
  • Santa Margarita - 31
  • Cayucos - 17
  • Creston - 15
  • Cal Poly - 8
  • Avila Beach - 7
  • San Simeon - 6

Another six are listed as "other," which includes communities with fewer than five cases. The Public Health Department is not identifying those locations.

COVID-19 tests are currently available to the public in Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo, and Atascadero.

The pop-up testing clinic in Atascadero will be open Mondays through Thursdays from September 21 to October 1.

On Wednesday, Sept. 23, testing will be available in Paso Robles at the corner of 24th St. and Riverside Ave. from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

On Wednesday, Sept. 30, testing will be available to community members in Heritage Ranch at 2130 Heritage Loop Rd. From 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Health officials say registration for the Paso Robles and Heritage Ranch testing locations will be done on-site. The testing is free and no identification or insurance will be required.
