SLO County reports 34 new cases of COVID-19

San Luis Obispo County reported 34 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, bringing the county's total to 2,613 confirmed cases as of August 20.

Fifteen people are hospitalized, including five patients who are in the ICU.

Another 424 people are recovering at home and 2,153 people have recovered.

San Luis Obispo County has had 20 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

  • Morro Bay - 35
  • Cambria - 30
  • Santa Margarita - 23
  • Shandon - 16
  • Cayucos - 13
  • Avila Beach - 7
  • San Simeon - 6

The location of two cases is listed as "under investigation," and another eleven are listed as "other," which includes communities with fewer than five cases. The Public Health Department is not identifying those locations.

COVID-19 tests are currently available to the public in Grover Beach and San Luis Obispo.

A pop-up testing clinic will be open Mondays through Thursdays in Nipomo from August 24 until September 3.
