Vandenberg AFB works to protect personnel during COVID-19 pandemic

Following emergency declarations made by state and county leaders, Vandenberg AFB declared a public health emergency as a preventative measure over the weekend.

Col. Anthony Mastalir, 30th Space Wing commander, declared the health emergency to help protect personnel.

"We are taking proactive steps to protect the health and safety of our personnel in accordance with guidance from the Department of Defense, Centers for Disease Control, and state and local officials," said Col. Anthony Mastalir, 30th Space Wing commander. "We are implementing prudent procedures and policies designed to protect the people while also ensuring our ability to carry out our national security mission."

There are currently no confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Vandenberg AFB.
