UPDATE (9:30 p.m.): Santa Maria police say a female driver crashed into a power pole or transformer near Broadway and St. Andrews Way Saturday night. The crash may be affecting power in the area.
Police arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence. It’s unclear whether she suffered any injuries.
Caltrans is also responding to the crash. Police ask that drivers steer clear from the area while they work to restore power.

Santa Maria Police reported on its Twitter that crews were responding to “a serious traffic collision” at Broadway and St. Andrews Way.
“Please avoid this area due to traffic congestion and emergency personnel in the scene.”
