Santa Barbara Co. Foodbank in need of 1,800 turkeys by Thanksgiving

Posted at 1:31 PM, Nov 19, 2018

The Santa Barbara County Foodbank says it is still in need of turkeys ahead of Thanksgiving.

They’ve received about 1,200 of the 3,000 turkeys needed.

The turkeys and other food items go to the foodbank’s 300 partner agencies across Santa Barbara County.

A deadline of Friday, Nov. 16 was initially set so workers would have enough time to deliver the turkeys to various organizations across the county before Thanksgiving, but organizers say they will now take turkey donations through Wednesday, Nov. 21 at 5 p.m. at their locations in Santa Maria, 490 W. Foster Road, and Santa Barbara, 1525 State Street.
