A suspect was arrested in connection with the shooting overnight at the Oceano Dunes that injured six people.
According to the San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Office, Francisco Orozco, 19, was arrested and will face charges of attempted murder.
Orozco is from Oakland, authorities say.
Shots were fired around midnight at the Oceano Dunes.
“State Parks responded and multiple victims were given initial treatment,” The sheriff’s office said in a press release. “Six individuals were transported to local hospitals to receive further medical treatment.” The extent of injuries is unknown.
Detectives remained on scene as of 9 a.m. conducting interviews and processing the scene for evidence.
The Sheriff’s Office is leading this investigation, and is continuing to process evidence and interview witnesses, the press release stated. No further information is available at this time.
According to the San Luis Obispo County Jail roster, Orozco is being held a $500,000 bond.
