More details are being released about a homicide investigation in Santa Barbara.
Santa Barbara Police said in a press release Saturday that they received a report around 1:15 a.m. that a man had been assaulted on the city’s east side.
It happened along the 1300 block of Cacique Street in Santa Barbara.
Officers responded to the area and found a man unconscious so they performed CPR until emergency medical responders arrived. The man was transported to Cottage Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Police say the man died from “multiple stab wounds from a sharp object.”
The victim was a 29-year-old Hispanic man. His name is not being released at this time.
