Central Coast hot streak continues until midweek winds offer reprieve

The weekend hot streak continues into Monday due to offshore winds moving over the Central Coast.

Increasing high pressure over California will produce moderate to fresh Santa Lucia winds, which are accompanied by low relative humidity levels and warm temps.

Clear skies are expected throughout San Luis Obispo County until westerly winds begin to move in Monday evening.

Inland valleys like Paso Robles will reach triple digit levels, while the coastal valleys like San Luis Obispo are expected to stay in the low 90s.

Beaches will range between the mid-70s and low 80s. The warmest temps are expected around noon.

Gentle to moderate westerly winds starting late Monday will allow a persistent marine layer with night and morning fog and mist to develop along the coastline through Wednesday.

That shift should bring cooler conditions, especially along the beaches.

The fire index rating from PG&E for Sunday is high along the coastline and coastal valleys. Northwestern inland valleys are at very high levels.
