A man convicted of sexually assaulting a woman in Atascadero Lake Park received the maximum sentence on Monday.
David E. Ardebili, 40, was sentenced to four years and six months behind bars after being found guilty of felony attempted sexual penetration of an intoxicated victim and misdemeanor simple assault.
The crime happened in June 2017. Ardebili reportedly enticed the severely intoxicated victim into his vehicle in downtown San Luis Obispo, drove her to a secluded area of Atascadero Lake Park, assaulted her, then left her at the Kmart parking lot in Atascadero.
He was convicted in May 2019.
