Work to improve the Betteravia Rd. and Highway 101 interchange ramps in Santa Maria is scheduled to begin this Monday, June 24.
The city says the goal of the $900,000 project is to relieve traffic congestion, minimize delays, and improve flow at the northbound onramp and southbound offramp.
The work includes:
- Widening the southbound offramp at Betteravia Rd. to accommodate an additional right turn lane and associated traffic signal improvements
- Removal of the concrete median on Betteravia Rd. and lengthening of the westbound left turn lanes at the Highway 101 northbound onramp signal
- Roadway resurfacing and restriping
Both ramps will remain open during construction.
The work is expected to continue through mid-August.
