The Montecito Fire Department will soon have a new fire chief.
The Montecito Fire Protection District Board of Directors on Monday appointed Kevin Taylor to the job.
Taylor has worked for CAL FIRE in San Luis Obispo County and the Paso Robles Fire Department. In 2015, he joined the Montecito Fire Department.
Taylor will take over for Chip Hickman who is retiring on July 5 after seven years as fire chief and 29 years with the Montecito Fire Department.
