Attendance was up at this year’s Santa Barbara County Fair in Santa Maria.
The fair says official numbers are still being calculated but that attendance was up 6 percent the first four days along with carnival rides over previous years.

“With the addition of some big-name attractions like the Professional Bull Riding Classic and a strong concert lineup, we had high hopes for solid attendance and we’re pleased with the turnout,” Fairpark CEO Richard Persons said.
Fair officials say the Bud Light Concert Series also drew sizable crowds.
In the livestock area, there were 1,833 animals. “Unofficial results show the livestock auction brought in approximately $2.2 million in total sales,” according to fair officials.

The fair kicked off Wednesday, July 10, and wrapped up Sunday, July 14, at the Santa Maria Fairpark.
