Six months after 90-year-old Lawrence Bross was found dead in his Oceano home, the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office says detectives are still following up on leads and asking anyone with information about the case to come forward.

Bross’ body was found inside his Strand Way home during a welfare check on January 24, 2019.

His neighbors are remembering him as a nice guy.

“I went to his 90th birthday party three months before he was killed,” said Dale Esposito, Oceano resident for 43 years. “He loved people. He was a school teacher. We called him ‘the professor,’ retired. He walked every single day down the street and talked to everybody and everybody loved him. I can’t imagine anybody hurting him.”

No arrests have been made in the case.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for Bross’ death.
