A Central Coast business owner served lunch Thursday to help out the Salvation Army in Santa Maria.

Arwinder Chacal owns two 7-Eleven stores on the Central Coast – one in Orcutt and one in Arroyo Grande.

Since 2017, he has been preparing meals for the Salvation Army, especially over the summer, when they do not get as many donations as they would in the fall or winter.

“We’re very good friends with Ravi and he’s been here before to help during the summertime. He understands our needs and he just offered to say, ‘hey, I want to provide lunch for your clients this afternoon.'”

The Salvation Army says their supplies are running low right now and they would appreciate any donations.

People can donate cash or bring food to the Salvation Army on West Cook Street in Santa Maria.
