ORIGINAL STORY: Authorities have been unable to locate family of a 26-year-old man killed in a crash in Paso Robles this week.
The California Highway Patrol is not publicly releasing the man’s name or where he is from until next-of-kin has been notified but officers say the San Luis Obispo County Coroner’s Office has been unable to find any of the victim’s relatives.
The crash happened Wednesday at about 9:15 p.m. in the northbound lanes just south of the Spring Street offramp.
CHP says the man, who was determined to be the only person in the Chevy Tahoe, drifted into the center divider before overcorrecting, causing the SUV to then spin, eventually rolling down an embankment and landing on the railroad tracks below.
Officers say he was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected. He died at the scene.
Anyone with information on the crash or who may have leads on the man or his family is asked to call the Templeton CHP office at (805) 434-1822.
