Athletes test their stamina by biking, running and swimming for the sixth Morro Bay Triathlon

Racers from all over the Central Coast participated in the eighth Morro Bay Triathlon Sunday morning.

Tri-athletes started their course by swimming or paddling their way across the Morro Bay Harbor.

Afterward, participants hopped on their bikes to cycle along Highway 1.

After biking, participants ran through the beach and boardwalk until they reached the finish line at Morro Rock.

Morro bay Tri, the organization that held the triathlon, held a post-event party at the bay with live music, food vendors and cold beer from Central Coast Brewing.

"When people come from all over the place and they stop and they are just in awe of this place and are in awe of what they did, that's what I'm into. whether you're like a fit athlete or just like a casual person, there's something for everybody and I just freaking love that," said Kristin Horowitz, co-owner of Morro Bay Tri.

Horowitz says Morro Bay Tri made this event an Olympic-and-sprint triathlon to help accommodate more racers and to make the event more inclusive.
