Authorities are looking for an 'armed and dangerous' man who is suspected of a carjacking in Goleta.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to reports of a carjacking near the area San Simeon Dr. and Turnpike Rd. on Friday around 10:45 p.m.

The victim was in a silver Mazda 3 hatchback when a man came up to the car, brandished a firearm and forced the victim out of the vehicle, according to officials.

The suspect then drove away in the Mazda and deputies said they have not yet been able to find the suspect or the vehicle.

According to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office, the person suspected of the carjacking is described as an adult male, standing at 5'8" with a thin build.

The California license plate for the stolen vehicle is 7HKU198.

Anyone who sees the stolen vehicle in encouraged to call 9-1-1 and not approach the vehicle or any occupants.
