Blood donations are needed across the Central Coast.
Vitalant says it's in need of all blood types, but especially O positive and negative.
The organization is looking to boost its supply ahead of the upcoming Labor Day weekend when donations decrease.

People can also participate in the 15th annual "Be a Hero" blood drive taking place Aug. 28 from 2-7 p.m. at KSBY's studio in San Luis Obispo, 1772 Calle Joaquin, or at Vitalant's Santa Maria location, 1770 S. Broadway.
Everyone who donates will receive a free meal and T-shirt.
