Hundreds of local families are ready for Christmas thanks to the Children's Resource Network of the Central Coast (CRNCC).
The non-profit partnered with the California Highway Patrol and the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office to hand out free toys, bikes and essential supplies to community members behind Mission San Miguel Sunday.
This was the CRNCC's second distribution event of the weekend.
John Peschong, San Luis Obispo County District 1 Supervisor, said community members look forward to this event every year.
"This is helpful. This really helps the community, and it gives children the Christmas they deserve," Peschong said. "It gives children the ability to celebrate Christmas with their families and look forward to a better coming year in 2021."
Peschong says at least 5,000 toys were distributed to more than 500 families at the event.
