Authorities have identified the Santa Barbara man killed in a crash Friday night in Arroyo Grande as Nicholas Lee Bozenich, 36.
The crash happened shortly before 10:30 p.m. Friday on private property near Los Berros Road and Milton Street.
The California Highway Patrol says Bozenich was driving a 2014 Polaris ATV when he lost control and went off a driveway. The ATV reportedly crashed into a tree before spinning and hitting another tree.
Bozenich died at the scene. Officers say he was not wearing any safety restraints.
His passenger, identified as Brian Bullough, 34, of Seal Beach, was strapped in and suffered major injuries, according to CHP.
Investigators say it's unknown at this time if speed, drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
