Crosswalks will soon be more visible along Ocean Avenue in Lompoc.
Crews on Thursday were working to repaint crosswalks and replace signage while also adding flashing beacons at J,K,M and N
streets.
The crosswalk improvement project is being handled by Caltrans.
Officials there say the work was not prompted by any specific incidents but they are aware that some community members have expressed concerns over pedestrian safety in the area.
