A 21-year-old driver had to be extricated from his car after crashing into a tree off Highway 101 Tuesday.
It happened at about 12:40 p.m. on northbound Highway 101 at El Sueno Road.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department reports it took firefighters about 10 minutes to get the driver out of the car, which appeared to have significant damage.
He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
The cause of the crash is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.
No other information was immediately available.
