False registration tabs led to the arrest of two Cambria men in Morro Bay and the discovery of drugs and fake cash, police say.

Morro Bay police say officers responding to the Tidelands Park area along the Embarcadero at about 2 a.m. Tuesday for "proactive enforcement" found an SUV with false registration tabs and vehicle registration that expired two years ago.

The two people inside the vehicle were reportedly arrested after officers say one, identified as Breck Ayerza, 57, was in possession of drugs, a scale and packaging material and the other person, identified as Michael Coffin, 59, reportedly had more than $1,000 in counterfeit bills.

Jail logs show Coffin's bail is set at $25,000 and Ayerza's is listed at $5,000.
