Central Coast IHOP restaurants are sweetening the deal for a free short-stack of buttermilk pancakes on National Pancake Day.

IHOPs in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties are encouraging diners to give a donation to Cottage Children's Medical Center in exchange for a few fluffy pancakes Tuesday.

Each year, IHOP partners with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, including Cottage Hospital, to raise funds through National Pancake Day.

Since 2006, IHOP says it has raised more than $30 million for its charity partners through National Pancake Day fundraising.

IHOP representatives say people who come in Tuesday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. to enjoy a short-stack of pancakes will have a chance to win one of 250,000 prizes, including pancakes for life!

This year, IHOP and its franchises aim to raise more than $4 million for the Children's Miracle Netowrk and other local charities including Shriner's Hospitals for Children and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
