Caltrans begins road work on Highway 101 near the Gaviota Tunnel.
Caltrans says the northbound number one lane of Highway 101 at the Gaviota Tunnel will be closed beginning Monday, March 30 through Friday, April 3 from 6 a.m. until 3 p.m.
This lane closure is part of an emergency contract so that Caltrans can repair a drainage system and perform erosion control near an embankment.
The US 101 Gaviota Roadside Rest Areas will be closed during the road work.
This is a $1 million dollar project contracted by Souza Construction of Santa Barbara, CA.
