The Santa Barbara County Coroner's Office has released the name of the motorcyclist killed in a head-on crash last week on Foxen Canyon Road east of Santa Maria, identifying him as Jeffrey Marez, 43, of Santa Maria.
The crash happened Thursday shortly before 6:15 p.m. near the intersection of Depot Street in the Sisquoc area.
The California Highway Patrol says Marez was heading southbound and swerved into oncoming traffic in a curve, crashing head-on into an oncoming car.
Three people in the car were reportedly treated for minor injuries.
Marez was pronounced dead at the scene.
Fire officials say the motorcycle caught fire following the crash.
